At Home Coffee House Mocha

SuperSite food editor Emily DeWitt writes:

At Home Coffee House MochaFour dollars for a mocha? I don’t think so. Make a coffee house mocha at home. For a stronger coffee taste substitute the brewed coffee with 4 shots of brewed espresso. You can find the Chocolate Drink Mix at MexGrocer.com.

3 cups milk
1 cup of brewed coffee
1 3.15 ounce tablets Nestle Abuelita Mexican Chocolate or Don Gustavo Mexican Chocolate Tablets
Whipped Cream (optional)
Powdered cocoa (optional)

Heat the milk in a saucepan on low to medium heat until hot. While the milk is heating, cut chocolate into fourths. Pour the milk into a blender, and add the coffee and chocolate. Frappe until smooth and the chocolate is melted. Pour the mixture into coffee cups. Top with whipped cream and powdered cocoa.

Yield: 4 cups
